Code of Conduct
A Community Built on Trust
SoulTrader is a peer-to-peer trading platform for the Soulsborne community. There is no automated inventory, no escrow, and no middleman. Every trade on this platform is an act of trust between two players who share a love for these games. That trust is what makes SoulTrader work, and protecting it is the responsibility of every member.
By creating an account, you agree to uphold the principles outlined here. Violation of this Code of Conduct may result in warnings, suspension, or permanent removal from the platform.
1. Trade in Good Faith
When you create or accept a trade, you are making a promise. Follow through on your commitments. Do not misrepresent items, levels, or upgrade status. If something comes up and you cannot complete a trade, communicate that promptly and cancel the trade.
Deliberately scamming another player — failing to deliver promised items, baiting and switching, or exploiting the platform to deceive — is grounds for an immediate, permanent ban.
2. Communicate & Coordinate
SoulTrader connects you with potential trade partners, but the actual exchange happens in-game. We strongly encourage you to:
- Add your Discord, Steam, PSN, or Xbox contact details to your profile.
- Reach out to your trade partner before the in-game meeting to confirm details: location, character name, password, and timing.
- Be patient and flexible with scheduling — your partner may be in a different timezone.
Clear communication prevents misunderstandings and makes trading faster and more enjoyable for everyone.
3. Be Courteous & Considerate
Behind every username is a real person. Treat others the way you want to be treated. This means being polite in comments, patient in trade negotiations, and gracious whether a trade goes perfectly or falls through.
The Soulsborne community is known for its passion and camaraderie. SoulTrader exists to strengthen that spirit, not undermine it. Help new traders learn the ropes. Leave fair karma ratings. Be the kind of trader you would want to trade with.
4. Zero Tolerance for Hate & Bigotry
SoulTrader has an absolute zero-tolerance policy for:
- Racial, ethnic, religious, or gender-based slurs and hate speech.
- Harassment, threats, doxxing, or stalking of other users.
- Discriminatory language or behaviour targeting any individual or group.
- Posting hateful, extremist, or intentionally inflammatory content.
This applies to usernames, profile bios, comments, trade notes, and all other user-generated content on SoulTrader. Violation results in immediate and permanent removal.
Note: Common profanity (swearing) is not in itself a violation. We are not policing colourful language — only language intended to dehumanise or attack others.
5. Respect the Platform
- Do not post external links, advertisements, or spam in profiles or comments.
- Do not create multiple accounts to manipulate karma or circumvent bans.
- Do not attempt to exploit, hack, or reverse-engineer the platform.
- Report bugs and issues through the feedback page rather than exploiting them.
6. Karma & Accountability
After each completed trade, both parties can rate their experience. These ratings contribute to a player's karma score, which is visible on their profile. Karma is a reflection of your reputation as a trader.
Please rate honestly and fairly. Do not weaponise the karma system to punish people for personal disagreements unrelated to trading.
7. Enforcement
SoulTrader administrators and moderators review reports and may take action including:
- Removing offending content (comments, profile bios, trade notes).
- Issuing warnings or temporary suspensions.
- Permanently banning repeat offenders or anyone who engages in hate speech, scamming, or harassment.
If you witness a violation of this Code of Conduct, please report it via the feedback page or contact an administrator directly.
SoulTrader is built by and for the community.
Every honest trade, every kind word, and every fair rating strengthens the trust that holds this platform together. Thank you for being part of it.
